Commentary Don Quixote half-naked, holding his lance and melancholic during his love penance in Sierra Morena; his arms on the left.
From the left, Sancho observes him hidden.
In the background, a windmill half-transformed into a giant (reminds Coypel's design for Paris: Surugue, 1723-24).
Deficient printing/preservation.
Interesting romantic image of don Quixote.
Good combination of techniques; the quality of the whole image is quite acceptable.
Notes 1 - The illustratior's signature is unreadable.
2 - Repeated in tome II (better printed).
