Commentary At the Duke's palace, don Quixote is served by Duchess' maidens; also Sancho in the scene.
Illustration not too much accurate to Cervantes' text; don Quixote was undressed by the Duchess' maidens, but he dressed himself alone, just with Sancho.
Theatrical, court and baroque composition (rich clothes, detailed baroque arquitectures, French gardens, curtains...).
Excellent use of dotted manner/stipple; well-drawn and shaded figures.
Notes 1 - Copy after Coypel's illustration (La Haye: Hondt, 1746; originally engraved for Paris: Surugue, 1724).
