Commentary Well-known scene since Savery (Dordrecht: Savery, 1657), whose basic composition has been copied here.
Don Quixote is ready to descend into Montesinos' cave when a flock of birds and bats surprises him.
Sancho and the bachelor's cousin observe him laughing.
Illustration without originality.
Drawing and engraving are quite acceptable, but with little naturalism.
