Commentary Sancho Panza, in the center of the composition, gesticulates while three servants, by Pedro Recio's order, take away the most delicious dishes.
Pedro Recio is dressed in a ridiculous manner.
Suitable scene for Coypel's style: many servants (forming a semicircle), rich architecture, chandelier, curtains, clothes...
Remarkable light and shadow effects.
Excellent drawing and engraving.
Notes 1 - From set "Sold by G. Vander Gucht in Queen Street Bloomsbury" (London, c. 1728-30 or later); numbered as plate 14.
2 - Copy engraved by Gerard van der Gucht? after Coypel's illustration (Paris: Surugue, c. 1728-30); the composition has been turned in comparison with Coypel's, but they both have the same large horizontal format.
