Commentary Don Quixote punishes Sancho (fallen on the ground) because the squire prefers Micomicona's beauty to Dulcinea's.
Micomicona (Dorotea) tries to prevent don Quixote from beating Sancho again; also the priest.
Drawing and engraving done to look archaic.
Notes 1 – Copied after the illustration for Barcelona: Juan Jolis, 1755 (and 1762), copied after Madrid: Antonio Sanz, 1735, badly copied after Diego de Obregón’s illustration (Madrid: Andrés García de la Iglesia, 1674).
2 - The background architecture of Obregón's illustration has not been copied.
