Commentary Rocinante moves to smell one of the mares when four travelers (three in the illustration; servants of don Luis' father) arrive to Juan Palomeque's inn, leaving don Quixote hung by his hand tied to an inn window.
Well-known scene.
Good drawing and good engraving; style quite influenced by Tony Johannot's illustrations.
Notes 1 - Don Quixote's figure (alone) is the same but turned designed by Tony Johannot for Paris: Dubochet, 1836-37.
