Commentary | This illustration is quite influenced by Antonio Rodríguez' (Madrid: Imprenta Real, 1797); they both have the same elements with light changes.
The inn is similar, although its door has changed; don Quixote's figure is similar too, but without the basin and with the left arm down. From the left, the innkeeper arrives to help don Quixote. On the right, Rocinante smelling the mare of one of the travelers (servants of don Luis's father); and two more travelers on the left. |
