Commentary Don Quixote, sat on his bed, has decided to start his third sally without Sancho, causing Sancho's sadness (see his face).
The housekeeper, frightened by don Quixote's intentions, has made Sansón Carrasco come to convince don Quixote to stay at home, but, by the contrary, Sansón Carrasco will encourage him to go out.
The engraving is not too much good.
Notes 1 - Turned copy and with fewer details after Lebarbier's illustration (Paris: Didot-Deterville, 1799); also previously copied by Bigant for Paris: Chez Gide, 1806 and Paris: H. Nicolle, 1809 and by Macret for Paris: Briand, 1810.
2 - Placed in the upper left corner, but it should appear on the right, after "The priest and barber visiting don Quixote".
3 - Placed as frontispiece.
4 - Same plate first engraved for Paris: Renouard, 1812.
