	Title Caption	Nachdem der Ritter von Mancha 12 zur Galeere Verurtheilte aus ihren Ketten befreyt hatte, begab er sich mit einem Bartbecken auf dem Kopfe, das er für Mambrins Helm hielt, und einem Barbier abgejagt hatte, mit seinem Schildknappen Sancho in die Sierra Morena. Während sie hier schliefen stahl Gines, einer der befreyten Räuber, der sich auch vor der Hermandad in diese Gegend versteckt hatte, Sanchos Esel, der bey seinem Erwachen ein jämmerliches Geheul anhub.

	Commentary	In the foreground, Sancho wakes up and discovers that Ginés de Pasamonte has stolen his donkey; Don Quixote observes him with astonishment. In the background, Ginés de Pasamonte running away with the donkey, although in Cervantes' text it is said: "y antes que amaneciese se halló bien lejos de poder ser hallado" (23:1). The complete description of this scene (the saddle on four stakes) appears in chapter 4:2. Well-detailed drawing and engraving; remarkable print.
