Commentary | Westall has resolved the scene only with the main character: Dorotea washing her feet into a stream and "combing" her hair; neither the priest, nor Cardenio, nor the barber appear, but their presence is suggest by Dorotea's glance.
Romantic setting, a leafy landscape. Print of great beauty because of its good drawing and engraving. |
