Commentary | Well-known scene and easily recognizable; in the foreground, Sancho's blanketing, while, in the background, don Quixote sticks out his head and lance from behind the inn wall.
Sancho's expression is not quite well-resolved (laughing or frightened?). Marstrand's drawing, quick and fluid, is remarkable. Interest in creating "Spanish" characters. |
