Commentary Well-known scene; don Quixote and Sancho mounted on Clavileño and surrounded by the Duke, the Duchess and several servants simulating Clavileño's flight (don Quixote protects himself from one of the fires).
Remarkable print; good light and shadow effects; shading has been well-created by aquatint.
Sancho's figure, tender embracing don Quixote, is remarkable.
The figure of the Duchess is not too much good.
Notes 1 - This plate was first used for London: McLean, 1819.
2 - Placed as frontispiece.
