Commentary | Dinner at Juan Palomeque's inn after the arrival of the captive and Zoraida and before don Quixote's speech of arms and letters.
The figures have been arranged with accuracy to Cervantes' text; don Quixote sat at the head of the table (background); at his left, Micomicona (Dorotea), Luscinda, Zoraida, the priest and the barber; at his right, don Fernando, Cardenio, the captive and other gentlemen (only two characters included). Illustration resolved with good naturalism, as a genre scene. Remarkable drawing. |
