Commentary | In the foreground, don Quixote is prepared to fight with a lion while the lionkeeper opens the gate of the cage.
Sancho and don Diego de Miranda (or the carter) have been represented twice; in the foreground, what isn't accurate to Cervantes' text, and in the background, as they are represented traditionally. Drawing and engraving are quite simple and poor, without naturalism. |
