Commentary Dorotea, washing her feet into a stream and combing her hair, is surprised by the priest, the barber and Cardenio in Sierra Morena.
Dorotea is the main character of this scene; Johannot has used a detailed drawing for her (well-engraved too), while the priest, the barber and Cardenio are reduced to two sketched figures.
Notes 1 - Same illustration and wooden block first used for Paris: Dubochet, 1836-37.
