Commentary Reference to the dialogue among don Quixote, Sansón Carrasco and Sancho; "que así acomete mi señor a cien hombres armados como un muchacho goloso a media docena de badeas" (4:2). 
Notes 1 - Same illustration and wooden block first used for Paris: Dubochet, 1836-37.
2 - "Badea" is a kind of melon, but what Johannot has represented are pears because Louis Viardot has translated "badeas" as "poires" (pears).
