Commentary Well-known scene; this one of the most represented episodes. Last moment of the adventure, when Sancho arrives to help don Quixote, already defeated by the windmill.
Sancho has been represented carrying a sword, as he appears since the earliest illustrated editions (Lisboa: Jorge Rodríguez, 1605; Paris: Denis Moreau, 1618; London: Blount, 1620).
