Commentary In the foreground, in the beach of Barcelona, the Knight of the White Moon (Sansón Carrasco) defeats don Quixote.
Scene represented with the same basic composition since Savery (Dordrecht: Savery, 1657).
Disproportionate figures.
Drawing and lithograph of quite little quality.
Notes Bad copy after Francesco Novelli's plate XXXI for Venice: Alvisopoli, 1818 (and 1819); Bedini has eliminated the group of Sancho, the Viceroy and Antonio Moreno and several setting details.
Novelli copied it after Bonard and Cars's illustration (Paris: Huart, 1733); also in Paris: David Fills Damonneville, 1741.
