Commentary The scene is well-known; Countes Trifaldi kneels down before the Duke, the Duchess and don Quixote asking for the knight's help. Also Sancho, two pages (of three holding Trifaldi's skirt), Trifaldín and some dueñas.
Gilbert makes a big mistake: he has represented Trifaldi without beard.
Trifaldín's figure, in the background holding a big sword, is quite remarkable.
Notes 1 - Excellent and highly-detailed copy after Gilbert's illustration (London: Charles Daly, 1842 and London: Bohn, 1842).
2 - "Todo parece hecho aquí a la buena de Dios: el duque luce en su pecho el toisón de oro. ¡Adelante, no importa!" (GG206).
