Commentary In the center, Sancho, framed by two columns and one large curtain, with the secretary and the majordomo.
At each side, one group of characters (one with the accused man and other with the accusing one).
Great and theatrical setting; perfectly-balanced composition.
The stolen coins have just been discovered into a walking stick; Sancho looks at the accused man (right) out of the corner of his eye.
Excellent drawing and engraving.
Notes 1 - Plate XXV (in the French edition, the plates aren't numbered).
2 - Illustration dated in 1743.
3 - Copied after Coypel's illustration (Paris: Surugue, c. 1731-43).
4 - The composition has been turned and the format now is vertical, so Schley has enlarged the curtain, the sky and the floor.
