Commentary Reference to captive's tale; when Agi Morato is going to be disembarked, held fast by both arms by the captive and other Christian, he begins to shout to Zoraida; "teniéndole yo y otro cristiano de entrambos brazos asido, porque algún desatino no hiciese, le dijo: ¡Oh infame moza y mal aconsejada muchacha! ¿Adónde vas, ciega y desatinada, en poder destos perros, naturales enemigos nuestros?" (41:1).
The representation of the figures is especially remarkable; see Agi Morato's furious gesture, the movement of his clothes, Zoraida weeping and covering her face with her hands (excellent image).
Notes 1 - Process reproduction after the original lithograph (Mexico: Masse y Decaen; I. Cumplido, 1842) after Johannot's design (Paris: Dubochet, 1836-37).
