Commentary | Don Quixote, sat on his bed, has decided to start his third sally without Sancho, causing Sancho's sadness (see his face).
The housekeeper, frightened by don Quixote's intentions, has made Sansón Carrasco come to convince don Quixote to stay at home, but, by the contrary, Sansón Carrasco will encourage him to go out. Drawing and engraving with acceptable quality. |
Notes | 1 - Same plate first engraved by Bigant for Paris: Chez Gide, 1806.
2 - Copied after Le Barbier's illustration (Paris: Didot-Deterville, 1799). 3 - Placed as frontispiece. |
