	Commentary	The Basque Lady begs don Quixote not to hurt her squire, lying defeated on the ground. Masterly drawing, engraving and setting; carefully-done illustration; notice the lady dressed in black, her face and expression.
	Notes	1 - Reproduced by photo-engraving after Edinburgh: William Paterson, 1879-1884. 2 - Printed on India paper. 3 - "¡Cuidado que hemos visto versiones de la famosísima aventura del Vizcaíno!; no obstante, Lalauze se hace con ella y nos da otra nueva y admirable. Fijémonos en la caballeresca figura de Don Quijote, que parece un Enrique IV de Francia, pero de doble talla. Veamos, sobre todo, cómo visten esas damas, el Vizcaíno, tendido en el suelo, y los comparsas que se ven al fondo. Notemos el arnés de la caballería que asoma a la izquierda, la calesa, parada, más allá; y el finísimo arbolado que sombrea el paraje. Todo minucioso, todo verídico, si no verdadero, todo detallado y especificado" (Givanel 242-243).
