Commentary Don Quixote and Sancho knelt before three peasant girls on donkeys while Sancho introduces one of them to don Quixote as the enchanted Dulcinea.
Notice that Lalauze has tried to be Spanish in the representation of the peasant girls (with Spanish regional dresses), but the village in the background (El Toboso) is more French than Spanish.
Excellent drawing and engraving; notice the gestures and expressions of the peasant girls.
