Commentary | The headpiece includes two images: the first one (with a circular format) refers to don Quixote asking Sancho Panza to be his squire; the second one (as background of the first) shows Sancho's donkey (this second image is a reference from the dialogue represented in the first one: "y que asimismo pensaba llevar un asno que tenía, muy bueno, porque él no estaba hecho a andar mucho a pie" 1:7).
Don Quixote and Sancho's gestures and expressions are remarkable. |
