Commentary Micomicona (Dorotea) kneels down before don Quixote and the knight tries to prevent her from doing it.
The barber, disguised with a beard (ox tail), laughs, while Sancho holds the barber basin.
Behind the trees, the priest and Cardenio are hidden.
The scene has been resolved with the basic composition.
Well-detailed drawing and engraving.
Notes 1 – Turned copy in a new vertical format after Coypel’s illustration (Paris: Surugue, c. 1724); Folkema has enlarged the sky and tree.
