Commentary Theatrical composition.
In the center: Quiteria and Basilio, who pretends to have stabbed himself; both well-lighted.
On the right, Camacho ready to draw his sword.
From the left, don Quixote advances to stop him, while Sancho stays protecting his food.
Also the priest and several women.
Drawing and engraving are excellent; good expressions.
Notes 1 – Turned copy in a new vertical format after Coypel’s illustration (Paris: Surugue, c. 1724); the trees have been enlarged, both sides cut and some figures eliminated.
