Commentary | Don Quixote's speech about the Golden Age; Sancho and some shepherds listen to him.
Drawing and engraving are excellent; especially for don Quixote's gesture and the expressions of the shepherds. The light and shadow effects are highly remarkable; notice how light and shadows remark the expressions of the shepherds. Doré reproduces Spanish "tipos" sketched in Spain in 1861-62. |
