Commentary | Beginning of the episode of the mares; accurate to Cervantes' text, "vinieron a parar a un prado lleno de fresca yerba, junto del cual corría un arroyo apacible y fresco; tanto, que convidó y forzó a pasar allí las horas de la siesta, que rigurosamente comenzaba ya a entrar" (15:1).
Doré has drawn a shadowy piece of forest in keeping with Romantical liking. Drawing and engraving are excellent. |
