Commentary | Excellent representation of the fight (here almost as a battle) among don Quixote, Sancho, Rocinante and the Yangüeses.
Gestures, movements and expressions are very remarkable. Notice the different kind of drawing/engraving between foreground figures (well-detailed) and background figures (sketched). Doré reproduces Spanish "tipos" sketched in Spain in 1861-62. |
