Commentary | Reference to the tale of the Knight of the Lake as told by don Quixote in defense of chivalric books.
Second of three illustrations about this tale; after having jumped into the lake, the knight arrives to a forest with a stream and, in the background, a castle. Illustration in keeping with Romanticism and Doré's liking for legendary scenes. Drawing and engraving are excellent. |
