Commentary Sancho Panza, in the center of the composition, gesticulates while three servants, by Pedro Recio's order, take off the most delicious dishes.
Pedro Recio is dressed in a ridiculous manner.
Suitable scene for Coypel's style: many servants (forming a semicircle), rich architecture, chandelier, curtains, clothes...
Remarkable light and shadow effects.
Excellent drawing and engraving.
Notes 1 - Photomechanical copy (rough) of the illustration appeared in Amsterdam/Leipzig: Arkstée & Merkus, 1755.
2 - Copy after Coypel's design (first appeared in Surugue: Paris, c. 1728-30; also copied for La Haye: Pierre de Hondt, 1746).
3 - Same plate first engraved for La Haye: P. Gosse & A. Moetjens, 1744.
