Commentary | In Barataria Island, Sancho is not allowed to eat by doctor Pedro Recio, who orders a servant to take away the dishes from Sancho's table.
Well-known scene, but this small vignette is specially remarkable; the scene has been resolved with an original composition; in the foreground, the servant walking towards the viewer and taking away one of the dishes while Sancho, in the background, sticks out his head from behind Pedro Recio. Good drawing and good decorative combination image-text. |
