Commentary | Sancho Panza, in the center of the composition, gesticulates while three servants, by Pedro Recio's order, take away the most delicious dishes.
Pedro Recio is dressed in a ridiculous manner. Suitable scene for Coypel's style: many servants (forming a semicircle), rich architecture, chandelier, curtains, clothes... Good light and shadow effects. Highly-detailed drawing and engraving. |
Notes | 1 - Good copy in a reduced size after Schley's plate with Coypel's design for La Haye: P. de Hondt, 1746.
2 - Plate XXVI. |
