Commentary Sancho, pointing to don Quixote, introduces him to the Duchess, who rides a white horse and holds a goshawk (accurate to Cervantes' text).
Just one maiden accompanies the Duchess; in other illustrations, her retinue is larger.
Acceptable engraving.
Notes 1 - Copied after Demeuse's engraving (Francfort: Bassompierre, 1750) after Charles-Antoine Coypel's design (first appeared in Paris: Surugue, 1723; also copied for La Haye: P. Gosse & A. Moetjens, 1744 and later editions).
