Commentary In the center, Sancho, framed by two columns and one large curtain, with the secretary and the majordomo.
At each side, one group of characters (one with the accused man and other with the accusing one).
Great and theatrical setting; perfectly-balanced composition.
The stolen coins have just been discovered into a walking stick; Sancho looks at the accused man (right) out of the corner of his eye.
Acceptable engraving.
Notes 1 - Copied after Demeuse's engraving (Francfort: Bassompierre, 1750) after Charles-Antoine Coypel's design (first appeared in Paris: Surugue, c. 1731-43; also copied for La Haye: P. Gosse & A. Moetjens, 1744 and later editions).
