Very acceptable engraving. |
Notes | 1 - First copied for Madrid: Vega, 1804 after Antonio Rodríguez' illustration for Madrid: Imprenta Real, 1797.
2 - Wrongly-placed in chapter 46:2. 3 - This illustration can be compared with Isidro and Antonio Carnicero's (Madrid: Ibarra, 1782 and Viuda de Ibarra, 1787). 4 - Before this illustration, there were five other plates in 1797 edition: "Caen desairadamente de sus cabalgaduras D. Quixote y Sancho en presencia de los Duques", "Las criadas de la Duquesa xabonan las barbas á D. Quixote", "Aventura del desencanto de Dulcinea", "Caen D. Quixote y Sancho del Clavileño" and "Dolorosa pelea que sostubo D. Quixote contra el furor de un gato"; they have not been included in 1804 and 1840 editions. |
