Commentary Don Quixote returns to his house taken by Pedro Alonso on his mule; the niece appears to help him.
Also Rocinante carrying don Quixote's arms.
Good drawing and engraving.
In an ornamental and architectural frame with a jester's head, lance, whip, trumpet...; the whole illustration has got a remarkable decorative effect.
Notes 1 - Dated in March 14, 1797.
2 – In other copies, with the same or different caption and frame, for p. 70 (1797 and 1810) (Ashbee).
3 - Ashbee reads the illustrator's signature as "J. Hayman", but it is "F. Hayman"; this illustration is a turned copy after Francis Hayman's for London: Millar, 1755; some figures of the original (housekeeper and barber or priest) have not been copied.
