Commentary Centrifugal composition (more movement) where don Quixote attacking the theater and puppets is the center and the other figures form a "V".
On the left, the innkeeper and others.
On the right, Sancho, the broken theater and others.
Maese Pedro appears from inside the broken theater and his servant, who was telling don Gaiferos' tale, running away.
Theatrical and baroque composition; all the characters appear looking at the viewer and a large curtain has been placed as backdrop.
Good drawing and engraving, but shading is poor.
Notes 1 - Same plate first used for Paris: Compagnie des Libraires, 1732.
2 - Turned copy with a new vertical format after Coypel’s illustration (Paris: Surugue, c. 1723); some figures have not been copied.
