Commentary | Characters are divided in three groups:
On the right, the main one; surrounding the enchanted head (as a Roman bust), don Quixote thoughtful, Sancho astonished, don Antonio and two friends. On the left, in the foreground and in the background, two more groups that balance the composition. Well-detailed representation of a 18th century bourgeois French house (paintings, furniture, sculptures, carpets...). Theatrical scene. Good use of dotted manner/stipple. |
