Commentary | One of the best known and most represented episodes; don Quixote mistakes the wine skins for giant Pandafilando and attacks them (represented with an effective movement).
The innkeeper, barber, Sancho and others arrive to stop him. Illustration that clearly shows Clark's caricature style; figures are almost grotesque (see Sancho's face, the innkeeper...). The light and shadow effects created by the candle (hold by the barber?) are clumsy. This is not one of the best illustrations of the edition (excessive coloring). |
