Commentary This scene was first represented by Coypel (Paris: Surugue, 1724), but in a quite different way. Don Quixote and Sancho (on the left) are mere viewers of the dance of shepherds; the pair of dancers, in the center, have been represented as goyescas figures; they are quite remarkable.
Good light and shade effects through the trees. 
Notes Cushing Library also has a set where this illustration is missing.
