Commentary | Don Quixote gets tangled up with some nets and, when he tries to cut them, two shepherdesses appear to stop him; also Sancho. The four characters in the foreground; very theatrical and simple composition.
This is not one of the best illustrations of the edition; both shepherdesses repeat the same position; the figures and their gestures are quite forced, are not too much natural; see Sancho's face, pure caricature. Coloring is not quite good either. |
