Commentary | Theatrical composition; all the characters in the foreground. In the center, don Quixote (holding a rosary, Christian death) saying goodbye to Sancho and the priest (left); the housekeeper, the niece and the barber on the right. On the left, the notary (or Sansón Carrasco).
Excellent illustration because of Cruikshank's caricature style (see the housekeeper holding a soup bowl, the priest...). |
