Commentary Portrait of the shepherdess Torralba following the shepherd Lope Ruiz through the fields of Extremadura; very accurate to Cervantes' description, but Torralbas' face has been lightly idealized; "la Torralba que lo supo se fue tras él, y seguíale a pie y descalza, desde lejos, con un bordón en la mano, y con unas alforjas al cuello" (20:1).
Notes Andrew, Best & Leloir's monogram (formed by "A", "B" and "L") can be mistaken with Alexandre-Nicolas Belhatte's ("A" and "B"). In this case, it looks more like the first one.
