Commentary | The image is not too much accurate to Cervantes' text; according to the novel, doña Rodríguez is whipped by Altisidora and other maidens with some kind of slipper; in the illustration they are servants holding lashes. |
Notes | 1 - Andrew, Best & Leloir's monogram (formed by "A", "B" and "L") can be mistaken with Alexandre-Nicolas Belhatte's ("A" and "B"). In this case, it looks more like the first one. |
