Commentary Well-known scene since Savery (Dordrecht: Savery, 1657), whose composition has been copied through Paris: Huart, 1733. Before leaving Sancho for El Toboso (with brooms), don Quixote makes some handsprings as love penance.
Notable disproportions (see Rocinante).
The only novelty is don Quixote totally naked.
Notes 1 - Plate IX.
2 - In Paris: Huart, 1733 (also in Paris: David Fills Damonneville, 1741 engraved by Crepy Le Fils) don Quixote does not appear naked.
