Commentary | According to the dialogue between don Quixote and Sancho, the squire thinks that his wife is not prepared to be a Queen, so she should be just a Countess; in the tailpiece, Mari GutiƩrrez (or Juana/Teresa Panza/Cascajo) with a crown of countess combs her daughter's hair.
Remarkable engraving. |
Notes | 1 - Same tailpiece and wooden block first used for Paris: Dubochet, 1836-37. |
