	Commentary	Small details from Cervantes' text become remarkable once illustrated by Johannot; this vignette is based on a brief allusion to the "doncellas, de aquéllas que andaban con sus azotes, y palafrenes, y con toda su virginidad a cuestas, de monte en monte, y de valle en valle," (9:1) that don Quixote wants to help. Good engraving.
