Commentary Reference to Eugenio's tale; Leandra is found into a cave stripped to her shift and robbed of all her money; "al cabo de tres días, hallaron a la antojadiza Leandra en una cueva de un monte, desnuda en camisa, sin muchos dineros y preciosísimas joyas que de su casa había sacado" (51:1).
Romantic/tragic scene in keeping with Romanticism taste.
Both figures are well resolved.
Notes 1 - Same illustration and wooden block first used for Paris: Dubochet, 1836-37.
